Skeptical journalist Lydia Slater of The Telegraph attended IPSF’s World Pole Sports Championship this past July. She approached the event with preconceived notions which reflected in the beginning passages of her article where she mentioned “gyrating” on the pole multiple times even though nothing close to that takes place at IPSF events. To her surprise the audience at the event was overwhelmingly dominated by women. She also admitted the skills displayed more closely resembled “Cirque du Soleil than Spearmint Rhino.” And although she was extremely hesitant about the idea of children participating, she eventually reconciled that it was more akin to gymnastics on a vertical bar than anything salacious.  To read the full story click below.
