Australian pole dancers Michelle Shimmy, Maddie Sparkle and Pepper performed on ‘The Voice Australia’ this week. They danced to ‘American Woman’ sung by Frank Lakoudis. Judge Joel Madden called them “stripper gymnasts.” Michelle spoke to News Corp Australia to respond. “At first we laughed. It’s not the first time comparisons like that have been made. A lot of people do immediately compare pole dance to what you see in strip clubs,” she said. Michelle also responded to critics on social media who said their performance was not family-friendly. “There is no comparison at all to be made there. It was silly. We showcased our skills and our talents with a very athletic and acrobatic performance, and for it to be labelled as inappropriate and pornographic is just incorrect and ignorant,” she said.   To read the full story click here.
