NYPD Enforcing Regulations Against Subway Pole Dancing
The NYPD will be enforcing laws restricting straphangers from pole dancing in subway cars. The new policy change has already brought 240 arrests compared to only 40 from last year. Street dancers have been known to use subway poles in their unregulated performances, incorporating acrobatic and aerial movement to their routines. There have allegedly been no injuries as a result but the NYPD is still cracking down. “If the dancers make a mistake, someone could get hurt,” said Chief Joseph Fox, head of the NYPD’s Transit Bureau. “The dancers themselves could get hurt.” To read the full story click here.
