The New Zealand Opera has added a pole act to their modern rendition of Mozart’s Don Giovanni. The opera is centered around the power of women and includes controversial subject matter such as drugs, sex and gambling. Emily Scott plays a pole dancer as well as several other roles in the opera. Ms. Scott was trained in pole dancing specifically for this role. ”I came with preconceptions of it being a bit seedier but it takes so much strength. I was in pain for a whole week, I had bruises.
