Oh boy…we’ve seen all this before…another story on children and pole dancing, who thinks it’s right and who thinks it’s wrong. What’s different this time around is that the mothers are standing up for what their children are doing and believe it or not, the kids got to mention why they like it! According to Mail Online, “Research reveals there isn’t a town in Britain that doesn’t hold adult pole dancing classes. And, as its popularity has burgeoned, dozens of classes have sprung up specifically targeted at children.” Seven year old Alexis says, “I like it because you can meet new friends and learn new things.” and her mother is behind her all the way saying, “It’s up to other people what their perception is, but to me it’s not at all the way other people make out.” Time will only tell if this sort of exercise for young children will ever be acceptable in the majority public’s eye. It seems however, that with the backlash from these stories also comes an influx of support as the number of children’s pole classes pops up.
