The more flexible you are, the more tricks on the pole and on the floor you can do, the more tricks on the pole and floor you can do, the better pole dancer you are. And who doesn’t want to be a better pole dancer?? Flexibility, we all want it, reach for it, work for it. It is BY FAR, one of the most challenging workouts I do. The growth is measured in millimeters and can sometime take weeks or months to see the results you want. You definitely have to have patience and perseverance. To greatly improve flexibility, you need to stretch 5 times a week, 1 hour a day to improve flexibility, 3 times a week, an hour a day to maintain flexibility. Sounds impossible? Don’t have the time? Some tips to help you squeeze in a flexibility workout, before you leave the gym, take 20-30 minutes and add it to the back-end of your regular workout, spread out your yoga mat and stretch while you’re watching your favorite TV show, flexibility workshops, yoga classes and of course Pole Dance classes! Pole dance classes are one fun and sexy way to really improve your flexibility, it’s kind of like making the cough syrup taste good or taking your vegetables in the form of a delicious smoothie. Food and flexibility go hand in hand. If you want to increase your flexibility, you need to change the way you eat. The stretching exercises are necessary for increasing your flexibility, and are best done in addition to proper nutrition and food. Without proper nutrition, the exercise regimen for increasing your flexibility will seem to be like an uphill task. Green foods make you more flexible. The most important green foods are barley grass extract, spirulina, and chlorella. These foods and flexibility go together. Extract of Barley grass is the ultimate green food and it is excellent for stretching. The extract contains high levels of beta-carotene, iron, and calcium. Spirulina is an algae found in fresh water. It contains a great amount of vitamin B, iron, and GLA. Chlorella is also an algae found in fresh water. It is full of chlorophyll. This plant has very high body and blood cleansing attributes. The addition of sulfur is also of prime importance in improving the stretching abilities of the body. This is how food and flexibility go together. Sulfur is very useful in healing and repairing the connective tissues in the body. Sulfur is often called the beauty mineral. The intake of sulfur makes your hair, skin, nails shine, and makes them healthy. Sulfur also aids in the healing process and cures soreness naturally. MSM or Methylsulfonylmethane is a safe and easy to use form of sulfur. Those who want to improve their stretching ability and develop flexibility can either eat the vegetables that contain sulfur or take MSM as a nutritional supplement. The vegetables that contain sulfur are Brussels sprouts, peppers, broccoli, onions etc. These vegetables contain sulfur in differing quantities. Food and flexibility are interrelated. Vitamin and mineral supplements make a huge difference to the flexibility you have and the level of health that you have. You have the right food and the flexibility follows. You have to supplement your diet with natural vitamins and minerals. Then the stretching exercises will help you gain flexibility to the optimum level. The right nutrition can go a long way in making your body more flexible. Given below is a list of food items that should be included in your diet: Include a lot of dark green vegetables in your everyday diet. Dark green vegetables, especially the ones with high water content are very beneficial. They are very high in minerals, they cleanse the body, they are high in fiber and they fight acid build up. Vegetables like spinach, chards, sea weed, wheat grass, and parsley & barley grass juice will increase your flexibility. Grains and lentils are nutrition-dense foods. Grains are high in fiber, proteins and anti-oxidants. The fiber in these grains will help you make the most of your stretching exercises. Fats are also essential for the body, but it is important to consume fats from good sources. Rather than consuming animal fats or totally avoiding fats, it is important to consume plant fats. These fats are the essential building blocks for the body and they increase the elasticity of the tissues that increases flexibility.
